Rider University is keeping up its end of the bargain in the construction of their new environmentally-friendly dormitory. Belgian plow horses are being used to clear four acres of land in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Read all about it in the Trenton Times!
How could you not want to read an article that begins with this:
“Wood chips fly. Chain saw buzzes. Stubby Warmbold doesn’t flinch.”

just like the olden days.

Lighter Footstep has a great, simple list for moving in a greener direction. With these Ten First Steps, you could easily make some smart and effective changes that will help the environment, help your wallet, and even help your waistline.
My personal goal for going greener this summer is buying a bike. I’ve been putting it off because I didn’t want to spend the money, but at the rate I keep filling up my teeny gas tank, I think a bike would pay for itself in no time. It’s about 6 miles to work from my house. Fortunately, there is a beautiful path along a canal that travels all the way into Princeton. Although riding to work will add a lot of travel time, it will also add fresh air and exercise–a great way to start the day.
What are your goals for the summer?

I came upon this while surfing for green things:
Sundance channel is hosting the first television program dedicated entirely to the environment. They’re already on their second season. Lots of great stuff in there. I was particularly interested in the What’s the Big Idea Contest. You can submit a “short film or photo with your big idea to make the world a cleaner, greener place and you could win the ultimate green grand prize.” Check it out!
I also like the eco-mmunity e-cards. You can play around with the designs and create your own e-cards!
